1. Agreement
These terms govern your use of scoreline.co.za (the “Site”). By using the Site you agree to them. If you do not, please stop using the Site.
We may amend these terms. The effective date above tells you when the current version took effect, and continued use after a change means you accept it.
2. Who we are
This disclosure is made in terms of section 43 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.

3. What the Site is
ScoreLine publishes sports news, match reports, previews, analysis, fixtures, results and profiles. It is free to read and is funded by advertising. We sell nothing on the Site and take no payments through it.
4. How you may use the Site
You may read, print and share our articles for your own personal, non-commercial use, and you may quote a short extract with clear attribution and a working link back to the original article.
You may not:
- republish, syndicate or sell our content, in whole or in substantial part, without our written permission
- scrape, harvest or systematically copy the Site, whether by hand or by automated means, or use our content to train an artificial intelligence model, without our written permission
- remove or alter bylines, credits, watermarks or copyright notices
- present our content as your own, or in a way that suggests we endorse you
- interfere with the Site’s operation or security, or attempt to gain access to any part of it that is not public
- use the Site for anything unlawful, or to harass, defame or impersonate anybody

5. Our intellectual property
All content on the Site, including articles, headlines, photographs, graphics, video, page design, the ScoreLine name and logo, the “Beyond the Score” tagline and our mascot Fluit, is owned by us or licensed to us and is protected by the Copyright Act 98 of 1978 and the Trade Marks Act 194 of 1993.
Some photographs and images are licensed from third parties or used under licence from rights holders, and those licences do not extend to you.
Team names, club badges, competition logos and player images belong to their respective owners. We use them for the purpose of reporting on sport. Their appearance here implies no affiliation with, or endorsement by, any club, league or governing body.
6. What you send us
If you send us a story tip, a photograph, a correction or any other material, you confirm that it is yours to send and that sending it breaches nobody’s rights. You keep ownership of it, and you give us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to publish, edit and archive it in connection with our journalism.
We are not obliged to publish anything you send, to keep it confidential unless we have agreed to, or to pay for it unless we have agreed a fee in writing.
7. Accuracy of scores, fixtures and results
We work hard to get it right, and we correct what we get wrong. Even so, scores, fixtures, log positions, team news and transfer information change quickly and are sometimes provisional. Kick-off times move. Results are subject to official confirmation and, occasionally, to disciplinary rulings after the fact.
Treat everything on the Site as journalism, not as an official record. For an official record, go to the relevant governing body: FIFA, CAF, SAFA, the PSL, SA Rugby or Cricket South Africa.
Do not use the Site as a basis for betting. We publish no betting advice, tips or odds, and we accept no responsibility for any loss arising from a wager placed on anything you read here.
8. Opinion, comment and complaints
Opinion and analysis on the Site are clearly labelled and are the views of the writer. Our sourcing standards, how we label opinion and how to have an error corrected are set out in our Editorial and Corrections Policy.
9. Advertising and links to other sites
The Site carries advertising served by third parties, and our articles link to sites we do not control. We do not endorse and are not responsible for the content, products, services or privacy practices of any advertiser or linked site. Deal with them at your own risk.

10. Availability
We aim to keep the Site up, but we do not promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or error free. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it, including archived articles, at any time and without notice.
11. Limitation of liability
The Site and everything on it is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties, express or implied, about its accuracy, completeness, timeliness or fitness for any purpose.
To the fullest extent the law allows, neither we nor our publisher, directors, employees or contributors are liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from your use of the Site, or from your reliance on anything published on it, including lost profit, lost opportunity or wasted expenditure.
Nothing in these terms excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
12. Indemnity
You indemnify us against any claim, loss or expense arising from your breach of these terms or your unlawful use of the Site.
13. Privacy
How we handle your personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which form part of these terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. You consent to the jurisdiction of the South African courts, notwithstanding that the effects of your use of the Site may be felt elsewhere.
15. General
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the policies they refer to, are the whole agreement between us about your use of the Site.
