Sundowns Open the Week in Style
The week kicks off on Wednesday, 9 September when Mamelodi Sundowns host Siwelele at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, with kickoff at 19:30. The Brazilians will be expected to impose themselves at home against a Siwelele side still finding their footing in the top flight. A Busy Saturday Slate
Saturday brings three fixtures, including one of the most anticipated matchups of the round. At 15:00, Polokwane City welcome Kaizer Chiefs to Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane – a game that will draw eyes from all corners of the country. Chiefs supporters travel in numbers, but Rise and Shine have shown they are no pushover on home soil. A large, vocal crowd is expected, and the pressure on both benches will be considerable.

Later on Saturday at 17:30, Chippa United face Mamelodi Sundowns at Buffalo City Stadium in East London. The Chilli Boys will carry the underdog tag, but they have a habit of raising their game against the giants of the league. Sundowns, playing their second match in less than four days, will need to manage their squad carefully. Fatigue could be a factor in the final stages.
Sunday Rounds Out the Weekend
Sunday serves up two fixtures at 15:00. Milford FC take on Richards Bay at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium in Clermont, a KwaZulu-Natal derby that carries local pride alongside the league points. At the same time, Siwelele face Golden Arrows at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein – just days after facing Sundowns, which makes squad depth a real concern for Siwelele’s management.
