Saturday is a two-screen afternoon. The Springboks begin their November in Italy over lunch, and while the second half in Turin is still being played, Soweto will be kicking off the first of this weekend’s three knockout cup quarter-finals. Sunday asks an even harder question at 15:00. These are the SA sport fixtures this weekend, Friday 6 to Sunday 8 November 2026, with every kick-off in SAST and taken from the organisers’ own lists.

Saturday lunch: the Springboks in Turin

The Test is on Saturday 7 November at the Allianz Stadium, Juventus’s ground in Turin, and it starts at 13:40 our time. Italy will see it as a 12:40 start, because in November Turin sits one hour behind South Africa. SA Rugby’s own match card says 13:40. The stadium’s owners publish 12:40 local time. Convert one and you get the other, so there is no doubt about this one.

A small warning before you set an alarm. Search results still serve up last November’s Test at the same stadium, which started at 14:40 South African time. That was 2025. This year’s match begins an hour earlier, so trust 13:40.

Turin is round four of the Nations Championship and the first of its three November rounds. The competition runs six rounds, three of them in July and three this month, and then a Finals Weekend at Twickenham in London later in November. If you want the format in plain language, our guide to how the Nations Championship works walks through it. The match-day 23 and the thinking behind it are in our Springbok team for Turin. This guide sticks to the clock.

Saturday afternoon: Pirates start the cup weekend

Soweto gets the first of the three ties. Sekhukhune United are the visitors at Orlando Stadium, and the PSL’s own list sets the start for 15:00 on Saturday. No other quarter-final is played that day.

Do the sums and the clash with Turin is obvious. A rugby Test runs 80 minutes plus half-time and stoppages, so anyone watching the Springboks will still be in the second half when the ball is rolled in Soweto. If you are going to the stadium, plan to catch the end of the rugby on your phone in the queue. If you are at home, the remote is going to work hard for half an hour. For the history of the club, see our Orlando Pirates page.

Sunday at 15:00: Polokwane or Loftus?

This is the decision of the weekend, and there is no clever way around it. Two big matches start at exactly the same time.

Up in Limpopo, Siwelele are the opponents for Kaizer Chiefs, Polokwane’s Peter Mokaba Stadium is the venue and the whistle is due at 15:00. The PSL lists the tie in Polokwane. Some reports call the ground the New Peter Mokaba Stadium; it is the same stadium, and we use the PSL’s name.

In Pretoria at the same hour, Mamelodi Sundowns meet USM Alger at Loftus Versfeld in the CAF Super Cup. CAF has confirmed the date and the venue, but when we checked on Thursday morning it had not published a kick-off time. Sundowns’ own fixture list gives 15:00, and the Diamond Fields Advertiser reported the same time on Tuesday, so that is the time we are using. One oddity: the club’s list labels the game as a Champions League match. CAF’s name for it is the CAF Super Cup, and that is the one that counts.

Sundowns are not in the knockout cup this weekend because they have already done their work. They booked a semi-final place against Golden Arrows at Loftus on Tuesday night, and our report on that quarter-final has the story. For the club itself, see our Mamelodi Sundowns page.

So the choice on Sunday afternoon is a domestic cup quarter-final or a continental trophy, one in Limpopo and one in Tshwane, both at 15:00.

    Sunday evening: Stellenbosch v AmaZulu

The weekend closes in the Winelands. AmaZulu travel to Stellenbosch FC for an 18:00 start on Sunday at Danie Craven Stadium, the last of the three quarter-finals and the last match on this guide.

The late start matters. The semi-final line-up will not be complete until this one finishes, which means Sundowns, the Saturday winner and the Polokwane winner will all be waiting on a result from Stellenbosch on Sunday night. By then four clubs will be left, Sundowns among them.

What is not on this weekend

A quiet calendar elsewhere is worth knowing too, so you do not go looking for matches that do not exist.

    • Premiership league: the PSL’s fixture list has no league games from Friday to Sunday. The next league match it lists is Durban City v Polokwane City on Tuesday 24 November at 19:30, at Chatsworth Stadium.
    • Bafana Bafana: SAFA lists no national-team match this weekend. Bafana host Kenya at Orlando Stadium on Friday 13 November at 18:00, and the second match against Kenya is listed for Tuesday 17 November, with the venue and kick-off still to be confirmed.
    • Proteas: Cricket South Africa lists no match this weekend. The home series against Bangladesh starts on Sunday 15 November.
    • Springbok Women: SA Rugby lists no fixture for them this weekend.
    • National First Division: the PSL’s page for the second tier was out of date when we checked, so we could not confirm this weekend’s games from the league itself. Rather than guess, we have left them out.

    The weekend clock

    Saturday 7 November
    – 13:40: Italy v South Africa, Allianz Stadium, Turin.
    – 15:00: Orlando Pirates v Sekhukhune United, Orlando Stadium, Soweto.

    Sunday 8 November
    – 15:00: Kaizer Chiefs v Siwelele, Peter Mokaba Stadium, Polokwane.
    – 15:00: Mamelodi Sundowns v USM Alger, Loftus Versfeld, Pretoria.
    – 18:00: Stellenbosch FC v AmaZulu, Danie Craven Stadium, Stellenbosch.

    Where these times come from

Every time in this guide is South African time on the 24-hour clock, and each comes from the body that runs the match or the club that hosts it. The rugby time is SA Rugby’s, checked against the 12:40 local time published by the stadium’s owners in Turin and against the match page of World Rugby for the venue. The three cup ties come from the PSL’s own fixture list, and a news report citing the league agrees on all three. The Super Cup date and venue are CAF’s, and the kick-off is from Sundowns.

None of the organisers had named a broadcaster when we checked on Thursday morning. The pages that do name one are about last year’s matches, so we have left broadcast details out rather than risk sending you to the wrong channel. If any time or venue changes before the weekend, we will update this guide.
